Canterfield Communities & Support Groups

Canterfield is not just a home that provides care and joy to seniors across the southeast, we are also an active part of our communities. We provide a safe space to host events for caregivers in our area, support groups for those caring for dementia-afflicted seniors, and events and informational sessions for our residents and their family members.

It is important to us that we promote healthy, active living in all ways — beyond our duties as caregivers for our residents. If you’re looking for support, look no further than your nearest Canterfield community.

Our Marketing Director at Canterfield of Kennesaw is on the board of ACAP: Adult Children Caring for Aging Parents. This group hosts free monthly educational programs, covering a broad range of caregiving topics. The events are open to all, as they “emphasize the importance of self-care and proactive aging strategies for caregivers themselves.”‍ ‍Join Canterfield of Kennesaw’s ACAP chapter on their website.

At Canterfield of Clay County and Canterfield of Franklin, we host monthly Dementia Caregiver Support Groups, with each meeting focusing on a different topic led by a health professional. Stay up to date on the next meeting through their Canterfield of Clay County and Canterfield of Franklin’s Facebook pages

Canterfield of Tallahassee hosts a Back-to-School Brunch and Supply Fundraiser benefiting the local elementary school. While this activity has already passed, the team in Tallahassee is building a new community engagement plan. Stay tuned to their Facebook for more information

Canterfield of Fort Myers hosts a myriad of events, from raising money for the Dr. Piper Center with a Christmas in July event, to showcasing the benefits of Thrive IV with an informational session for seniors in the community and elsewhere. Their events are ever-changing and unique, so please stay tuned to their Facebook for the newest one.

In addition, all our communities offer respite care for short-term senior care, providing relief for burnt-out caregivers.

Canterfield is not just a home where seniors spend their golden years. We are an active participant of our greater communities, leading the conversation on healthcare, aging, memory care, grief, and charitable works. Contact us today to discover how you can join our conversation.
